How did you guys start out playing festivals? And how did you link up with New Frontier
We owe a LOT to New Frontier! We had been playing a lot around NYC but hadn't really toured much at all before they agreed to take us on. What got us to the point we're at is a culmination of many, many moving parts of the whole machine that is The Band and everyone we work with professionally. It's a bit of a two pronged beast - the Music, and as a close second, the willingness to put in a lot of long hours of hard work to make everything happen.
Hi Arleigh, I also want to know? I never get to hear your signature songs, HOLLOW BONES, and especially BOOM BOOM. This has you guys written all over it! This is who your are! I'll be in the house again for your shows Nov.1st at the F.T.C., and again later in the month at the BOWERY. Please don't disappoint me, or we'll have to break up! See-ya, Louie. And seriously, definitely consider those 2 ZEP alternatives, "since I've been loving you", and "achilles last stand".Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds responded on 09/20/2014 Next question
I enjoyed you very much at the OC Tavern. Sorry for the small crowd but your energy level was still incredible. Great performance by Sister Sparrow and the rest of the band. The slow blues number was most enjoyable. I miss the trombone, and the horns should be more "out front." They could have been miked better. Please don't take this as a criticism, just an observation by a fellow musician. Horn bands are rare these days so feature them aka Tower of Power. I hope you come back to southern California soon. I am now a life long fan. KenSister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds responded on 09/24/2014
