Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds

Saw a poster for your upcoming show at Founders in GR. I can't stop listening to the Fight EP and Pound of Dirt album! Looking forward to the show and to the new album too. Do you think streaming your music for free has helped or hindered your album sales? With all the debate lately about Spotify, etc. I'm curious to hear your take. (PS I can tell you that finding you guys the way I did and having the ability to check it out on your site led to my EP & LP purchase + I'm soon to be a Pledge backer. Keep doing what you do!)

Hey Matt! Thanks, and wow, loaded question... Streaming definitely seems to be the future (or present), and for a band at our level, the more ears listening to our music, the better. Your story illustrates the best way streaming helps bands. There are definitely improvements that need to be made to ensure that revenue that is generated by these streaming service companies gets returned to the artists, but it doesn't seem to hurt us at the level we're at. At this stage, the more people that find out about us and then come to a show, the better...
