I've seen the band three times now. I have noticed that the horn sections has gotten smaller every time I've seen you. What's the deal....other than money. The full horn section projects so much power and "balls" in the music and Arleigh gets even more support with the big band.
All the best,
Other than money?! Haha. It has nothing to do with that for us, never has been...
Hi guys - just a couple of questions. Firstly, do you plan to be at 'Hardly Strictly Bluegrass' in SF again this year? I caught you there at Golden Gate Park last year while I was on vacation, and I know while you're not really 'bluegrass', I know you've become fixtures there in recent years....
Also, as a massive UK fan of the band, is there any help / advice I can give to get you guys to gig over this side of the pond? Other than recommending your management get you playlisted on BBC Radio 2, and / or get you a slot on 'Later with Jools Holland' on BBC TV, I want to do what I can to 'spread the fowl'! Any ideas?
Ok, I'm a little obsessed by the band right now. Saw you in San Luis, CA last month and plan on Santa Barbara in September. Playing's great and those songs - wow. It's just so good to see a band of real musicians out there doing it, with a singer who can rival Susan Tedeschi/Joan Osborne. Anyway, It'd be really cool if you could do "Dirt" at the Santa Barbara show. I guess that's not a question - just a request. Ok -- gushing over. See ya.Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds responded on 08/11/2016
